Two University of Montevallo players recently received Gulf South Conference honors.

University of Montevallo freshman middle hitter Carson Anderson was recently named the Gulf South Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week for women&8217;s volleyball.

And UM junior goalkeeper Melford James Jr. was named the Gulf South Conference Defensive Player of the Week for men&8217;s soccer.

Anderson, a Chattanooga, Tenn.

native, averaged 1.44 blocks per game in the Lady Falcons volleyball matches.

And

James posted his first career shutout on recently and averaged 0.50 goals per match for the Falcons
