The Thompson Warriors took Jackson-Olin to the woodshed for a 35-0 whipping last Friday night.

Thompson head football coach Brian Maner said his kids played hard and that his defense stepped up and took this game over.

That was evident by the fact that the 6A (3-1,2-1) Warriors held region foe Jackson-Olin to 84 yards rushing and 39 yards passing for 123 yards total offense.

The Warriors also pounded the visitors for 268 yards on the ground and 35 yards through the air for 303 yards total offense.

The ground attack was led by Adrian Marcus, who gained 132 yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns. He was followed closely by Sideeg Cooper who had 70 yards on nine carries and two touchdowns.

Defensively Paul Bennett led the team with nine tackles, four sacks and a forced fumble. Darius Ausmer had 12 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Quarterback Alan Reeves completed three of eight passes for 25 yards and suffered one interception.

Maner said the defense got turnovers to put his offense in good position.

The Warriors scored all of their touchdowns on the ground. Marcus scored on runs of 10 and 11 yards. Reeves scored on an 18-yard run, and Cooper scored on runs of 8 and 10 yards.

Adam McKinney handled all the point after attempts.

Maner called this game a good win. Next his Warriors will host 5A Hayes in a non-region match this Friday night.
