The Calera Fire Department will honor their fallen comrade Chris Roy at Montevallo&8217;s Fire Prevention Parade and all other Alabama firefighters killed in the line of duty.

The Calera department will carry a national Fallen Firefighter Memorial Flag in honor of Roy during the Saturday, Oct. 7 parade.

Roy was killed last year when the fire truck he was driving collided with an 18-wheeler.

The memorial flag is displayed at the Montevallo fire department whenever an Alabama firefighter dies in the line of duty. The parents of Joseph Jay Boothe, who died on duty in April 1994, donated the flag in memory of their son and all firefighters honored at the National Firefighters College in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

The Fire Prevention parade will start at 10 a.m.
