Helena green space debate continues

Helena planning and zoning officials will meet tonight to discuss a controversial piece of green grass.
Steve Mobley, of Mobley Development, proposed last month to reduce a 20-foot strip of green space along Shelby County 52 to make room for a Walgreen&8217;s Pharmacy.
Mobley said the reduction was necessary to make way for the road being widened in the future.
Residents at the Falliston subdivision, which is located adjacent to the future Walgreen&8217;s property, oppose the plan.
The resident argue that decreasing the green space would also decrease their privacy.
Mobley said after hearing the complaints from local resident he would reconsider decreasing the green space.
Mobley&8217;s lot has been zoned as B-1 for more than a decade, allowing for the development of businesses such as banks and drug stores
