James Clyde Burnett

James Clyde Burnett, age 84, of Clanton, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2006 in his home.
He was born in Alabama on June 25, 1922, the son of the late Willie Washington Burnett and Cleo Garner Burnett. He was a World War II veteran and retired from the Alabama Power Company. He loved the Lord and people and music. On Saturday mornings he could often be found down at Glenn&8217;s Music Shop listening to their Gospel Music. But when they played the train song, he made the train whistle sound for them. He was a dedicated husband, father, PaPa and friend and loved them all as much as they loved him.
Funeral services will be held at Charter Funeral Home in Calera on Wed. at 1 p.m. with burial in Union Methodist Cemetery in Westover. Brother Arthur Davis will be officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the services.
Survivors of Mr. Burnett include his loving wife, Marie Burnett; daughters, Patricia Ann Poe (Norman) of Chelsea; Carolyn Burnett of Clanton and Renita Robertson (John) of Jackson, Ga.; son, Robert Burnett (Pat) of Columbiana; brother, Curtis Burnett (Evelyn) of Gadsden; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Arrangements for Mr. Burnett are under the direction of Charter Funeral Home in Calera
