The Chelsea Public Library has extended its operating hours once again.

The library is now open all day Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Previously, the library closed from 2-5 p.m. each Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier this fall, the library added Saturday service to its schedule for the first time.

Library Director Dana Polk said adding more operating hours is simply an answer to increased public demand.

&8220;I&8217;m glad we were able to give people what they wanted,&8221; she said.

The library is now open Monday and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Thursdays, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Chelsea Public Library is located on the first floor of Chelsea City Hall. Their telephone number is (205) 678-8455 and can be reached via e-mail at mailto:dpolk@shelbycounty-al.org.

The library sponsors several reading programs, including a &8220;Tot Spot,&8221; Wednesday mornings at 10:30.
