Doris J. Peacock of Alabaster passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at the age of 74.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alabaster and a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Singleton &8220;Cooter&8221; Peacock; a daughter, Donna (Billy) Skinner of Pelham; two grandchildren, Brook (Robbie) Gibbons of Pelham and Rae Ann (Ken) German of Prattville; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Iris (Bob) Seltzer of Daucula, Ga. and Joyce (Terry) Langston of Centerpoint; and a brother, William (Marsha) Hatfield of Alabaster.

The family received friends on Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, from 1-2 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Mike Byars officiating. Interment was in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directed
