David H. Hadaway

David H. Hadaway, 63, of Calera, passed away peacefully in his home with family by his side on Tuesday morning, Nov. 14. David was the loving husband of Carlene R. Hadaway, and was a devoted father to Holly Hadaway Campbell. He was born on Sept. 26, 1933, and was the son of the late Jesse Lowe Hadaway and Mary Hadaway Wells. His beloved nephew, Michael Todd Anthony, also preceded David in death.

David graduated from Calera High School in 1956 and then spent the next couple of years serving our country in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Montevallo Electric and Machine in the spring of 2001 and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the beach and playing golf. All who knew David would attest to the fact that he was always a very honest, hard-working, dependable man.

He is survived by his wife, Carlene R. Hadaway of Calera; daughter, Holly Hadaway Campbell of Hoover; son-in-law Michael David Campbell of Hoover; grandsons, Foster David Campbell and Ashton Michael Campbell of Hoover; brother, Frank Eugene (Sue) Hadaway of Germantown, Tenn.; sister Gwen Hadaway (R.L.) Anthony of Birmingham; brother, Gary Lowe (Cathy) Hadaway of Calera; nieces, Kori Giallanza of Hoschton, Ga., Kathy Strasburger of Memphis, Tenn., Barb Catagnus of Harleysville, Pa., and Cacy Hogg of Alabaster; nephews, Steve Anthony of Flower Mound, Texas, Michael (Linda) Robitzsch of Mobile; and sister-in-law Barbara (Paul) Brisendine of Mobile.

Visitation was Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006 at Rockco Funeral Home in Montevallo from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will also be held at Rockco Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, 2006.
