Raymond Leon Eddings

Raymond &8220;Ray&8221; Leon Eddings died at Wood Dale Health Center on Nov. 21.

He was born on Nov. 3, 1925 in Montevallo. Raymond was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mal G. and Pluma Nabors Roy, and parents, Ulysses S. and Madge Roy Eddings. Survivors include his wife Louise Holcombe Eddings, sons and daughter-in-law; Philip M. and Susan Eddings of St. Simons Island, GA, Michael R. Eddings of Rome. Ga, grandchildren; Philip Eddings II of Sandy, Utah, Michael Eddings of Robbinsville, N.C. and their mother, Mary Eddings of Robbinsville, N.C.; Erin Eddings of Tahoe City, Ca, Laura Eddings of Charleston, SC and their mother, Jennifer Besal of Charleston, S.C., step-granddaughter; Tracey and Andy Boozer of St. Simons Island, Ga., step-great-grandson; Zane Boozer of St. Simons Island, Ga., brother; Joe Eddings of Alabaster, nephews; Ken Eddings of Alabaster and Tim Eddings of Carrollton, Georgia, cousins; special friends, Charlie, Jane, Ann Jones and LuAn Long.

Mr. Eddings retired from the Sunshine Biscuit Company where he was a top Southeaster Sales Representative for 39 years. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dalton, a loyal Bama Booster and an avid lover of nature and caretaker of the environment. Mr. Eddings served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific and Atlantic theaters.

Memorial services for Mr. Eddings were held at the First Presbyterian Church in Dalton, Ga. Friday, Nov. 24 at 1 p.m.

Visitation with the family was held at the church fellowship hall immediately following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Dalton. The Cremation Society of the South were in charge of arrangements
