SPECIAL TO THE REPORTER

KLMK Group has been selected by Baptist Health System (BHS) to manage approximately $165 million in expansion and renovation projects at BHS hospitals.

KLMK&8217;s scope of responsibility includes project launch and project management services, and assisting BHS management with selecting both contractors and architects for the multiple-facility expansion projects, including the construction of new patient towers at Princeton and Shelby Baptist Medical Centers.

&8220;With multiple projects at three of our hospitals moving forward, there is a real need for a central management team to coordinate and oversee the work.

KLMK has a proven track record and met our criteria to serve in that capacity,&8221; said Doug Davenport, BHS senior vice president and CFO. &8220;Additionally, with a number of the projects scheduled over several years, having a resource in place like KLMK should assure timeliness of projects and overall efficiency.&8221;

In early 2004, BHS began the development of master facility plans at each of its hospitals.

Since that time, the system has invested more than $13.2 million in capital projects and plans to invest an additional $165 million in capital projects over the next three years.

Completed projects include a new Family Center at Walker Baptist Medical Center and a complete renovation of the Emergency Department at Shelby Baptist Medical Center
