Laderreous Kelley scored 19 points and grabbed seven boards to pace the Warriors (11-2) and take home Most Valuable Player honors in the championship game of the Shelby Invitational at Pelham.

Siddeeq Cooper scored 14 points in the 70-67 win over Calera.

&8220;That fourth quarter (Cooper) stepped up offensively and defensively for us, said Thompson coach Jeff Nichols.

&8220;Calera does some great things defensively and they get you playing the way they want to play,&8221; Nichols said. &8220;We wanted to take the ball to the bucket and get layups and free-throws.&8221;

Dameion Bland added 13 points for the Warriors. Kyle Nichols led the Eagles (8-2) with 20 points and Kaderius Lacey had 14.

-Thompson 54, Shelby County 53: The Warriors improved to 10-2 at the time with this semifinal win in the Shelby Invitational Tournament behind the 16 points and five rebounds by Kelley. Bland had 12 points and Gary Cunningham had 10 points and seven rebounds for the Warriors, as well. Josh Dikis and Darion Sutton each had 15 for Shelby County (5-6) at the time.

-Pelham 74, Shelby County 65: Steven Clark poured in 32 points for the Pelham Panthers (4-10) in this third place game of the Shelby Invitational Tournament.

Trey James had 18 points for Pelham. Tyrone Buie led Shelby County (5-7) with 20 points and six rebounds. Richard Sutton added 11 and Josh Dikis added 10 for the Wildcats.

-Spain Park 79, Leeds 58: Wheeler Flemming paced the Jaguars with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the Sneaky Pete&8217;s Jaguar Classic while Cameron Terry and Jake Drum poured in 13 each. Terry also grabbed six boards and dished out seven assists. Tony Threatt led Leeds with 14 points.

-Oak Mountain 51, Hanceville 27: The Eagles defeated the Bulldogs behind the 12 points of Drew Herring. Ronnie Mack contributed three three-point shots.

Demetrius Hall and Tristan Prifuy each had eight for Hanceville.

-Briarwood Christian 53, Shades Mountain Christian 29: The Lions roared in this contest behind twin 12-point efforts by Austin Thames and Drew Faulk and six-point performances by Wesley Lynch and Carter Tanner. Justin Hill had 12 points for Shades Mountain Christian.

-Calera 88, Pelham 66: Kaderius Lacy led the Eagles with 20 points and eight rebounds. Drew Hannon scored 16 and Demarcus Dowdell and Brian Watts each had 10 for Calera.

-Childersburg 59, Vincent 56: The Yellow Jackets fell to their visitors from Talladega County despite the fine play of Eric Arrowood with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Octavious Looney with 12 points and five rebounds and Josh Kelley with 11 points and six rebounds. Cameron Posey scored 10 points and grabbed six boards as well. Childersburg was led with C.J. Estelle with 33 points.

-Kingwood Christian 56, Lakeside School 45: Cody Owen scored 19 points and grabbed 13 boards to lead Kingwood while Nick Holcombe added 16 points and 11 rebounds. Caleb Wooten led Lakeside with 15 points.

-McAdory 45, Chelsea 28: David Strider scored 12 points and Rod Macon scored eight points to lead Chelsea in this losing effort. Codarryll Desmond led McAdory with 13 points and five rebounds
