Phillip Dale Carter, 39, was born in Alabama on Dec. 20, 1967. He passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 24. Funeral services for Mr. Carter were held at Oak Mountain Independent Church on Saturday, Jan. 27 at noon. Burial followed at Pelham City Cemetery. Brother George Golden officiated. Visitation was held on Friday, Jan. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home in Calera. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his father, Howard Carter; grandparents, Jimmy and Gladys Martin. He is survived by son, Steven (Dora) Carter; mother, Billy Carter; sister, Monica (Mike) Smith of Montevallo, Kaye (Kevin) Sparrow of Cleveland, Ohio, Phyllis Carter of Shelby; brother, Tony (Tina) Carter of Alabaster; and a host of nieces and nephews
