Funeral service for Nora Spates, 75, of Harpersville, was at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 15 at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home. The Rev. William Rayfield presided.

She was buried at Harpersville City Cemetery.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 14 from 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Spates, who passed away on Monday, Feb. 12. at her home, was born on March 10, 1931 in Shelby County. Mrs. Spates was a member of Klein Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Mrs. Spates was one of the kindest persons you could meet, she was always doing for others. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Spates. She is survived by her son, Samuel Kyle (Lori) Spates; grandsons, Jonathan Garrison, Jason (Janel) Weeks;

brothers and sisters, Ellis Wood, Jr., Anderson Wood, Jimmy Wood, Hazel Riley, Wayne Wood, Linda Pearce, Steve Wood, Susie Abbott, Shiela Garrett and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directed
