Billy Gene Pearson, 70, of Shelby, died Sunday, Feb. 25 at home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. at Bay Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. Johnnye Horton will presided. He will be buried at Bay Springs Cemetery.

Visitation was Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Pearson was born on Feb. 28, 1936 in Shelby.

Billy was a loving husband for 48 years. He was a father to four boys and has six grandchildren. He was an outdoorsman and a construction worker with Brasfield and Gorrie for more than 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Pearson;

children, Phillip (Pat) Pearson, Steve (Frieda) Pearson, Kenny (Renee) Pearson, Billy Joe (Carrie) Pearson; grandchildren, Nicholas, Eva, Jolena, Jared, Haleigh, Hunter; sisters, Doris, Carol, Mary; brothers, Richard Pearson, George V.
