Clarence Brady Simmons

Clarence Brady Simmons, 82, of Orrville, died Monday, March 12 at a local VA Hospital. The funeral service was held Thursday, March 15 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Methodist Church in Heiberger.

Burial followed at Bethel Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation was held Wednesday, March 14 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Simmons was born on April 14, 1924 in Perry County to the late Auburn L. Simmons and the late Sue Ellen Simmons.

He was a truck driver and commercial fisherman.

He was a loving son, husband, father and brother.

He is preceded in death by a loving wife of 51 years, Evelyn New Simmons; son, Donnie Tidwell and two grandchildren. He is survived by six children, Robert Wayne (Judy) Simmons of Selma, Joyce Craft of Calera, Anita Martin (Melvin) of Columbiana, Phillip Simmons (Shirley) of Calera, Nancy Campbell (Travis) of Jemison, Deborah Averette (David) of Columbiana; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Smith of Hueytown; brother, Ben Simmons (Karen) of Plantersville and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
