Hoover sweeps on Eagles track

Hoover High School invaded the home court of the undefeated Oak Mountain girls track team Saturday and walked away with a sweep with both the boys and girls in the Oak Mountain Invitational.

The Bucs blew past the Lady Eagles, while collecting 146 points to Oak Mountain&8217;s 82.5 and holding them to just one first place finish in in the 4×800 meter relay.

The Lady Eagles were not the only unbeaten to fall, as Pelham&8217;s Sarah Sharman&8217;s height of 5-4 in the high jump was passed by Mountain Brook&8217;s Alexandra Morgan with a 5-6 jump.

In the boys invitational Hoover collected 127 points, followed by Vestavia Hills&8217; 73 points and Thompson&8217;s 56 points. Oak Mountain was eighth with 43 points.

Thompson picked up a win in the 4×100 meter relay and Spain Park&8217;s Eli Smith won the long jump. Oak Mountain won three events, as James Adair won the 1600-meter run and Zac Epperson won the pole vault. The Eagles also won the 4×800 meter relay
