Janet Clarice Pool, 63, of Calera, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at a local hospital. The graveside service for Pool was held Saturday, March 24 at 2 p.m. at New Shelby Cemetery. The Rev. Paul McNeal directed. Pool was born on September 1, 1943 in Birmingham.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Paul A. Pool and Clara Robbins Cromwell; three brothers, Paul R. Pool, John D. Pool, Robert W. Pool and a sister, Salley E. Carden. She is survived by one daughter, Michele B. Harrison (Tommy, Sr.) of Columbiana; one son, Paul E. Horton (Mia) of Calera; three grandchildren, Georgia Harrison of Boulder, CO., Beth and Jake Horton of Calera; two step-grandchildren, Tommy Harrison, Jr. of Destin, FL and Nathaniel Harrison of Columbiana; sister, Mary Charles Austin of Gainsville, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
