Carl Arthur Gardner, 83, of Wilsonville, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at his home. The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 10 at 11 a.m. at Bolton-Letlow Chapel. The Rev. Tommy Roberts presided. He was buried at Wilsonville City Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday, April 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Gardner was born on Dec. 17, 1923 in Wilsonville. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Corp and a piano technician. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margery Joyce Johnston Gardner; a son, John Arthur Gardner; a daughter, Janet Louise Gardner Swindle; his parents, Emmett Carroll Gardner and Tamra Ingram Gardner; a sister, Ruth Gardner Moore and a brother Emmett Clyde Gardner. He is survived by a daughter, Joyce Gardner (Isaac) Byrd; four sisters, Margaret Gardner Mezzell, Ann Gardner (Lloyd) Carlson, Jean Gardner (Tom) Roberts and Nell Gardner (Keener) Roberts; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
