Truitt C. Ray

Truitt C. Ray, 76, of Columbiana, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2007 at a local hospital. The funeral service was held Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Columbiana. The Rev. Mike Miller and the Rev. Jeff Fortenberry presided. He was buried at Pinelawn Gardens. The visitation was Tuesday, April 3 from 6-8 p.m. at the church. Mr. Ray, was born on Feb. 17, 1931 in Leeds. He was the owner of R & S Gas, Inc. and a member of First Baptist Church of Columbiana.
Mr. Ray was on the Columbiana Water Works Board for 27 years, a member of Shelby Lodge 140 and also a Worshipful Master, member of the Scottish Rites – 32nd degree and a Little League Baseball coach for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bobbie Ray; children, Larry (Sallie) Ray, Wanda (Ocie) Speer; grandchildren,
Justin Glass, Lindsey Gill, Daryl (Heather) Ray, Wendi Ray; great-granddaughter, Jadyn Jones; sister -in-law, Emma Ray and a host of other family and friends. Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directed
