Pelham Pride day is set for Saturday, April 28 and residents are asked to come out and help clean up the city.

The Pelham Beautification Board takes on the project every year around Earthday and hopes to have just as big of a crowd this year as in years past.

&8220;This event affords citizens of Pelham an opportunity to give something back to their community,&8221; said project chair Cheryl Fulton.

Adult volunteers will walk around 12 miles of the city&8217;s main roadways picking up litter.

Any families who wish to participate and have children 10 years or younger will be assigned to cleaning up litter at the Pelham City Park.

The event begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at noon with a celebration at the City Park pavilion.

The event will include free food for volunteers, live entertainment and prizes. Awards will be given to teams who collect the most litter and to the person who picks up the most unusual item.

Anyone interested in participating should call Cheryl Fulton at 620-6046 or Donna Treslar at 620-6402
