WILSONVILLE &8212; It was a special weekend at Shelby County Speedway. The track celebrated not only Father&8217;s Day, but it&8217;s 16th season on June 16.

Tim Peters received special prizes for being the 16th driver to arrive at the track, along with cheers from track officials as he stepped out of his truck to sign in his No. 55 Crate Motor Late Model.

Josh and Donald Ingram both showed up with their No. 16 race cars for a special tribute planned for intermission.

&8220;Sixteen years and we still can&8217;t find anything better to do on Saturday night,&8221; Josh Ingram said of the track&8217;s anniversary.

The track also recognized Father&8217;s Day Saturday with the presentation of special prizes. Little Jack Smith, who still cheers for his favorite drivers like a teenager, was honored for being the oldest dad at the track, while Shane Bright, age 18, was the youngest Dad. Other winners were Jimmy Hatchett, Tom Payton, Billy Ray, Donald Vick, John Andrews, Charles Peters and Tim Peters, for various games and trivia.

The best part of the night as always, was the racing, as Wayne Spradlin, No. 2, blew away the competition winning his second Hogg class feature in a row. Erik Todd, No. 50, and Randell Jones, No. 84 followed.

The Pure Stock Class

was door to door racing among the top three contenders. David Hatchett came in with the win in the No. 7, followed by Bobby Butler on his bumper in the No. 33. Larry Hatchett was third in the No. 01 car.

In the Hobby class, Jeremy Andrews led in the field in his No. 64, followed by Jerry Jarvis, No. 18 and Gary Ingram, No. 8. Tim Peters crossed the line to a burst of cheers in the Crate Late Class

in the No. 55 car, followed by Tim Bright, No. 224 and Toney Revis, No. 72.

Michael Moncreif&8217;s No. 8 took home a win in the Pony class, with Tim Butler, No. 42 in second and Jamie Price, No. 1 in third.

The next special night scheduled for the Speedway is

a rare Wednesday night race on July 4.
