George Robert McDonough, 94, of Montevallo passed away June 18, 2007 at his home in Montevallo.

The funeral service was June 23, 2007 at 9 a.m. at Rockco&8217;s Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo with the Rev. Cecil Sewell Jr. presiding. Burial followed in Macedonia Cemetery in Pea Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Helen Elizabeth McDonough; grandson T/Sgt. Marty Flynn; and great-grandson George Beattie.

He is survived by daughters, Dixie Lee Smith (husband, J.T.), Pat Blackwell (husband, Doug) and Loretta Thompson (husband, Gene); a sister, Mildred Thompson; sisters-in-law, Eula McDonough and Dorothy Henderson; a brother, Billy McDonough; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. McDonough was a charter member of Bible Baptist Church of Wilton.
