The Mountain Brook Angels &8217;90 Red and Vestavia Attack &8217;89 Blue both fell short of nationals in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Youth Soccer Region III Championships in Oklahoma City last week.

Both teams are made up of players from Jefferson and Shelby counties. Shelby County players on the Angels team are Devon Weldon of Indian Springs School, Deborah Ross of Briarwood Christian School and Shannon Lathrop of Oak Mountain High School.

Morgan Haney of Briarwood, Addison Ragsdale of Spain Park and Bethany Bertovic of Oak Mountain competed for the Vestavia Attack.
