I have chosen to run for Lt. Governor to help Alabama confront challenges it faces in Montgomery. I am proud of my earlier service as Public Service Commissioner, Lt. Governor and Governor, but much work still remains. In addition, my years in private life have given me a better view of how people outside Montgomery look at their state government. Because of my experience, I understand the complexities of the Legislature. I can get people working together and moving beyond the partisan bickering we have seen. Together, we can better move forward in education, economic development and other areas
