Davin Palmer knows you can’t catch him.

Despite his size, Chelsea’s 5 foot, 6 inch junior running back makes his presence felt on the field – treating opponents like flags on a slalom run.

“When I see the hole, I know I’m gone,” he said. “If I don’t see one, I’ll make one.”

Palmer rushed for a team-high 1,122 yards on 130 carries last season, averaging 8.5 yards per carry and reaching the endzone 12 times.

Palmer sees himself improving this season on last year’s stats.

“I would like to get 2,000 yards this season,” he said. “I hope my line will keep doing what they’ve been doing.”

A versatile player, Palmer also starts on defense for the Hornets.

He finished last year with 58 solo tackles and three blocked punts.

Defense, Palmer says, is the Hornets’ key to making a run deep into the postseason.

“I think we’ll do better than we did last year,” he said. “We’ve got a great defense this year.
