Funeral service for Eloise Rakestraw, age 81, of Birmingham, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Union United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jonathon Todd officiating. Burial will follow in Union Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Rakestraw, who passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at a local hospital, was born on Aug. 20, 1925 in Shelby County. She was a Girl Scout Leader in the Birmingham area for 21 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Rakestraw.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Hayes and Lou Ann Graves; grandchildren, April, Matthew, Steven and Rachel; sister, Marie Burnett; brothers, Jerry Salser and Burt (Linda) Salser and a host of family and friends
