Hall-Hurst

Mr. Billy Hall and Ms. Anita Duncan, both of Huntsville, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Renee Hall, to Christopher Dale Hurst. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Dale Hurst of Atmore.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Florene Hall and the late Mr. William “W.J.” Hall of Huntsville and Mrs. Jewel Duncan and the late Mr. Prince Duncan of New Hope.

She graduated from the University of Alabama in December 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. While there she was editor of the Corolla, the university’s yearbook, a staff writer for The Crimson White and a baseball hostess. She is currently employed with the Shelby County Reporter as a staff writer.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hurst of Foley and the late Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Averette of Mobile.

He will return to the University of Alabama to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology in addition to his Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice.

He then plans to apply to law school. While at UA, he served as pledge trainer, vice president and president of Chi Phi fraternity. He is presently employed with the Corporation for National and Community Service as an Americorps VISTA with Habitat for Humanity in Miami, Fla.

The couple plans to wed Aug. 11, 2007, at 6 p.m. at First Christian Church in Hoover. After a wedding trip, the couple will reside in Hoover
