Bobby Bawcum

Bobby Bawcum, 48, of Alabaster passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007. He was a member of the Alabaster First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Alabaster First United Methodist Church. Bobby was a living historian, Captain of the 31st Alabama CSA/17th Iowa USA Infantry, an active participant of Living Waters Emmaus Community. He was an avid hunter and member of the Calera Sportsman Club.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Bawcum; daughters, Melanie Ramos (Juan) and Michelle Bawcum both of Alabaster; stepdaughters, Tracey Emmonds of Tuscaloosa and Rachel Emmonds of Alabaster; parents, Bob and Nancy Bawcum of Birmingham; grandparents: B. Y. and Ann Williams; brother, Billy Bawcum (Laura) of Homewood; sister, Nanette King of Alabaster; uncles, Buck Williams of Midfield and Mike Williams of Birmingham; nieces and nephews, Tracy, Randy, Blake and Christopher; great niece, Lexie; and friends too numerous to list.

His service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Bawcum Benevolent Fund at any Compass Bank.
