John Dempsey aka Johnny, Rumpshaker, Pops and Papa, age 57, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 31 at Rockco Funeral Chapel in Montevallo and Nick Wells will be the presiding clergy. Interment will take place at Ryan’s Cemetery in Maylene.

He is survived by his spouse, Gail Isabell of Siluria; his daughters, Donna and Robin Isabell, also of Siluria; his stepmother and stepfather, Mary Alice and James R. Ray of Siluria; stepsisters, Cindy Glass (Phillip) of Calera, Patty Petrus (Mike) of Jemison, Pam Peal (Ricky) of Chelsea and Phyllis Hopkins of Alabaster; half brother, David and Dennis Lowery of Louisiana; stepbrother, J.V. Porter Jr. of Alabaster; and lots of loving nieces and nephews; and a bunch of loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Ray, and sister, JoAnn Smith.

The pallbearers will be Markela, Tonya, Crystal, Stacy, Linda, Tammy, Raven and Ashley.
