William Gerald Pouncey, a sixth-grader at Chelsea Middle School, recently returned home from a week in Washington, D.C. He was nominated by his fifth-grade GRC teacher to represent his school at the National Youth Leadership Conference.

Dividing time between the classroom and hands-on history lessons, Pouncey participated in activities involving debate, problem solving, networking, and goal setting. He worked with students from all over the United States and visited Philadelphia and Harper’s Ferry, W.Va
