A 22-year-old Montevallo man has been charged with the murder of a Jemison man. John Michael Scott faces capital murder charges, the Clanton Advertiser reports.

Police say he robbed and shot a 20-year-old before dumping the body in a wooded area in Jemison.

Scott is in the Chilton County Jail. The victim’s name has yet to be released, pending notification of next of kin
