COLUMBIANA – Sheriff deputies continue to look for a Chilton County man wanted in connection with a Lay Lake home invasion.

Police say a man returned home from work Wednesday afternoon to find Rodney Speigner, 41, breaking into his home in the 100 block of Paradise Point Drive.

When confronted by the homeowner, Speigner left the house and ran into a nearby wooded area, said sheriff spokesman Chris Corbell. Several other homes in the neighborhood were also burglarized.

Speigner, who is still missing as of Monday morning, faces one count of first-degree burglary and two counts of third-degree burglary. He is described as a black male from the Clanton area, six feet tall, and weighing 230 pounds.

Another suspect, Sparkle Geordrea Dickerson, 30, was arrested Wednesday near the scene of the burglary. She faces the same charges as Speigner and is free on $20,000 bond.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office at 669-4181 or by going to www.shelbyso.com and selecting “Report Criminal Activity.”
