Jeanette Benson Harless, age 73, of Shelby, passed away Sept. 22, 2007, surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 11, 1934, in Shelby. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Velma Benson, and grandson, Eric Harless.

She is survived by sons, Steve (Hattie) Harless and Mark (Terri) Harless; daughter, Jennifer (Vincent) Brown; grandchildren, Jordan Harless, Ashley, Vince and Taylor Brown; sister, Betty (Jesse) Dorough; and brother, Eddie (Mary) Benson. The family is grateful to Jeanette’s special friend and caretaker, Virginia Jackson for many years of love and special care.

Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 23 at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home in Columbiana from 6-8 p.m. Services were at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Monday at 11 a.m. with burial following at Shelby Gardens of Rest in Shelby.

The family requests that donations be made to the Eric Harless Memorial Fund at Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster in Jeanette’s name
