Children’s Health System announced Friday that Michael Warren Jr., current chairman of Energen Corp., will succeed Jim Dearth, M.D., who retired earlier this year.

Warren has been with Energen, Alabama Gas Corporation (Alagasco) and Energen Resources Corporation since 1983.

Warren also is a director of Protective Life Corp., Royal Cup Coffee and the Associated Electric and Gas Insurance Services Limited
