Martha Ann Henry

Martha Ann Henry was born and raised in Shelby County. She was born on Dec. 4, 1931, and passed away on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, in her home with her family by her side. She was a resident of Alabaster. She graduated from Shelby County High School in 1950. She retired from Thompson High School in the Shelby County School System. Her first job was with the probate office with Judge Walker.

Graveside Services were held at Nabors Cemetery in Alabaster on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. with Reverend Mike Byars officiating. Visitation was held at Charter Funeral Home in Calera on Monday, Oct. 8 from 6-8 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Cecil Rudolph “Shorty” Falkner, mother, Mrs. Pearl Maxine Bristow Falkner; son, David “Gregg” Henry and brothers, Jimmy Falkner and Larry Falkner. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, David L. Henry; daughters, Mary Harris (Phil), Susan Clark (Brian); and son, Ken Henry (Mandy); brothers, Cecil Falkner, Jr. (Sarah), Tommie Falkner (Shirley) and Ronny Falkner (Deborah); grandchildren, Cindy Harris Gibbs (Billy), Tommy Harris, Christopher, Madison and Craig Clark and great grandchildren, Marshall Murner and Tucker Gibbs. Arrangements were under the direction of Charter Funeral Home in Calera.
