The University of Montevallo’s National Broadcasting Society and the UM Programs Council have teamed up to present the second annual Rip the Runway 2.0 fashion show.

The production will benefit Shelby Emergency Assistance.

This second annual event is scheduled for 8 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Anna Irvin Dining Hall on the UM campus. Tickets are available from members of either sponsoring group or at the door. VIP admission is $5, standard admission is $3 or $2 plus one can of food. A special reception will be held for the VIP guests where there will be free gifts, refreshments and an opportunity to talk with the sponsors and model scouts.

All of the models will be UM students. They will wear selected outfits or combinations of clothing pieces from Royal Duchess Clothing Company in Montevallo, BeBe’s, J. C. Penny’s, and others from Fresh 2 Death Urban Wear and Rich Vision Designs.

“The fashion show was started because we wanted a project between the National Broadcasting Society and the UM Programs Council,” said Joyce Vaughn who is the publicity chairman for the event. She also said, “Our goal is to benefit SEA and the project gives our planning team a chance to fulfill their dreams.”

Paula Tall, Director of Shelby Emergency Assistance, said the event is, “A great opportunity to show how organizations can partner with SEA by supporting our efforts to help this area’s people in crisis.”

Co-chairs of the planning team are UM students Melvin Milton and Robyn Kimber. Members of the team are Joyce Vaughn, Nichole Sherrer, Kristen Amos, Raquel Fagrelius, Jordan Hutchison, Cierra Floyd, Shandra Juran and Chris Johnson.
