Mr. and Mrs. Larry Schmidtke of Hoover are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Diane Schmidtke to Richard Benjamin Collins, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Russell Moody of Montevallo.

Kimberly is the granddaughter of Mrs. James B. Smith Sr. of Homewood, the late Mr. James B. Smith Sr. of Homewood and the late Mr. and Mrs. Larry A. Schmidtke of Hoover. She is a graduate of Oak Mountain High School and the University of Montevallo where she earned a bachelor’s degree in retail merchandising and business. She is currently attending graduate school at the University of Montevallo pursuing a master’s degree in elementary education.

Benny is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Callins of Greenville, and Mr. and Mrs. James Durwood Moody of Sarasota, Fla. He is a graduate of Greenville High School and Troy University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and speech communication. He is also graduating in December with a Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University.

The wedding is planned for Dec. 29, 2007, at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Alabaster
