CALERA – SYSCO Food Services of Central Alabama Inc., located in Calera, recently won an $18.7 million contract by the U.S. Department of Defense for food and beverage support to armed forces agencies.

The local company will provide services to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Job Corps, Department of Defense and non-defense department customers in Alabama and the Florida Panhandle areas, according to the department.

The contract runs through October 2008.
