Ethel Moody Moore

Ethel Moody Moore, age 100, of Fairhope, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007. She was born at Kelly’s Creek, in Moody and lived for many years in the Bluff Park community. She and her husband moved to Calera in 1973, where she lived until a few years ago. She was a member of Bluff Park United Methodist Church in Hoover and Shiloh United Methodist Church in Calera.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard Pernell Moore, and her son, Edward Patrick Moore. She is survived by her daughter, Martha M. Roberts (Shuford) of Fairhope; her sister, Mildred Moody McDanal of Montevallo; five grandchildren, Russell P. Moore (Marcia), Suzann M. Rupp (Don), Laura M. Hinnegan (Joe) of Birmingham, James Allen Roberts (Tammy) of Silverhill and Kenneth A. Roberts of Robertsdale; nine great-grandchildren, Krista L. Gilliland (Brandon) of Pell City, Leigh Ann Lazarus of Tuscaloosa, Melissa Moore of Montevallo, Matthew McClellan, Andrew Hinnegan and Kelsey Hinnegan of Birmingham, Talen and Hannah Roberts of Silverhill, and Autumn Roberts of Robertsdale; three nephews, James A. McDanal of Hoover, Scott McDanal of Montevallo and Gary McDanal of Alabaster; and many other beloved family members, close friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home in Columbiana. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Calera, with the Reverend Joe Raines officiating. The family will also receive friends and visitors one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Currie-Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover. Memorials may be made to the Shiloh United Methodist Church in Calera.
