David Eugene “Gene” Jackson

David Eugene “Gene” Jackson, age 75, of Alabaster, passed away Nov. 7, 2007, in Birmingham. He was a good daddy, and a wonderful Papaw, and a real family man. He worked at Alabama Power in Wilsonville for 33 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman and Essie Jackson; two brothers, Leon and Odean Jackson; one sister, Annette Rutledge.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife of 45 years, Charlotte Jackson; three daughters, Sherrie (Steve) Benson, Terrie (Eddy) Watts and Susan (Mark) Pope; six grandchildren, Perrie Leigh Watts, Jackson Watts, Coley Benson, Trudie Benson, Mary Mason Pope and Marshall Pope.

Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. at Oakhill Cemetery in Jasper on Monday, Nov. 12, 2007
