Isaacs joins Army through deployed entry

Dillan S. Isaacs recently joined the United States Army under the Delayed

Entry Program. The program gives soldiers the opportunity to delay entering active duty for up to one year.

The enlistment also provides the option to learn a new skill, travel and become eligible to receive as much as $50,000 toward a college. After completion of basic training, soldiers receive advanced individual training in their career job specialty.

Isaacs is from Alabaster and a 2006 graduate of Thompson High School. He will report to Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga. in Jan. 2008.

He is the son of S. S. Issacs and James P. Isaacs both of Alabaster
