Dozens of children and adults recently celebrated the birthday of Winnie-the-Pooh author A. A. Milne at a “Pooh Day Party” at the Albert L. Scott Library in Alabaster on Jan. 17. Milne was born Jan. 18, 1882.

Children, some dressed in Pooh inspired outfits, brought their Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet and other stuffed toys to hear storyteller Miss Jennie Bunton, who wore her fancy Pooh pajamas and slippers.

The crowd sang songs, including “Happy Birthday.”

A highlight of the party came when the children took turns talking about their favorite Pooh characters.

Some of the children won door prizes, and they all had cookies and juice
