Jacquelyn Boyette Adkins

Jacquelyn Boyette Adkins passed away Feb. 2, 2008. She was born March 26, 1938.
Jackie was originally from Rock Mount, N.C. Her parents were Charles and Mary Boyette.
She spent the majority of her youth in Augusta, Ga., where she graduated from Richmond Academy. She worked for the Department of the Army for some 30 years.
She used her efficiency, organizational and managerial skills to push for those things in which she believed and considered important.
She worked as a volunteer for various organizations, most recently and nearest to her heart at the American Village in Montevallo.
She was very close to her nieces and nephews and considered them her own.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Col. Water R. Adkins; brothers, Charles Kenneth Boyette of Lithonia, Ga., John Goodwin Boyette of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Constance McIntosh of Houston; nieces, Jacqueline Fowler, Kathy Allen, Delores McCreery, Sammie Cockrell; and nephews, Robert Boyette, Charles Boyette, Michael Boyette, Damon Boyette and Sean Boyette; and numerous cousins and friends whom she loved.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Montevallo First Methodist Church or American Village in Montevallo.
The family will be receiving friends from 1-2 p.m. with the funeral at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Montevallo First United Methodist Church
