Eighth-ranked Georgia State University scratched out runs in the third and fourth inning to post a 2-1 victory over No. 23 University of Montevallo Tuesday.

UM was held to three hits on the day while Georgia State managed to collect five base hits. Brandon Aldridge started for UM, allowed one earned run with three walks and three strikeouts in 4.1 innings to take the loss.

UM (6-3) will travel to No.13 Southern Arkansas University for three game series this weekend
