Nadene’s Texas Pecan Pie

-3 large eggs
-1/2 cup butter
-2/3 cup sugar
-A dash of salt
-1 cup dark or white Karo syrup
-1 cup pecan halves
-1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
-9 inch piecrust
In a mixing bowl, slightly beat three large eggs with a fork. Melt 1/2 cup butter. Set aside until cool.
Add 2/3 cup sugar. Add dash of salt. Stir until dissolved. Add 1 cup dark or white Karo syrup. Add butter. Gently mix. Add 1 cup pecan halves. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Pour into 9-inch piecrust.
Bake on middle rack at 425 degrees F for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for 45 minutes or until toothpick comes up dry.
