The Office of Intercultural Student Affairs and the Black Heritage Committee at the University of Montevallo will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the integration of UM with &8220;A Celebration of Diversity&8221; Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. in LeBaron Recital Hall. Honorees will be Dorothy (Lilly) Turner, one of the first three African-American students enrolled at the University of Montevallo; Lonnie Edwards, UM&8217;s first African-American student athlete and the first African-American to graduate from the University of Montevallo; and Ethel Hall, Montevallo&8217;s first African-American faculty member.
