ALABASTER – “Hot, healthy and fresh.” Those are a few words that employees at Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina use to describe their food.
Not only is the traditional Mexican-style food one of the main attractions of this restaurant, the place’s general environment brings people in too.
Manager David Brim worked in several different restaurants over the past four years until he found Salsarita’s.
“I liked Salsarita’s and decided to stick with it,” said Brim, who began working at the Homewood location last April before the new Alabaster location opened in November.
MENU
Those who love Mexican food are sure to hit the spot when they come to Salsarita’s.
The restaurant offers everyone’s Mexican favorites including burritos, nachos, tacos, quesadillas and enchiladas.
Customers can choose from either beef, chicken, grilled steak grilled shrimp, vegetarian or more.
Anyone wanting the taste of Mexico without the calories might want to try one of the salads — the garden salad, the grilled chicken taco salad…the list continues.
All kids ages 12 and under can order a taco or cheese quesadilla that comes with chips, a cookie and a drink.
ATMOSPHERE
Upon entering Salsarita’s, one can’t help but notice the brightly painted orange, blue and green walls.
The Mexican-themed murals coincide with the bright colors, creating a fun and cheerful atmosphere.
There is also a bar area where customers can order alcoholic beverages of their choice, including the all-time Mexican restaurant favorite – the margarita.
SERVICE
Brim described Salsarita’s ordering process as an assembly-line style. Instead of waiting for a server to come to their tables, customers line up behind a counter at the back of the restaurant to order their meals.
Salsarita’s also offers a catering service, where customers can choose between four different options – the nacho bar, the salad bar, the taco bar or the burritos.
