Funeral service for Barbara Jean Kitchens Davies, age 71, of Gainsville, Ga., will be held Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel. The Rev. Michael Russell will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Curtis and Son North Chapel.

Ms. Davies passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at North East Georgia Medical Center following extended illness. She was born Oct. 28, 1936, to the late Erastus James and Louise Kitchens of Childersburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, E.J. Kitchens of Jacksonville, Fla. and Sherman Kitchens of Jamestown, Calif.

She is survived by daughters, LaVonda Davies, of Gainsville, Ga. and Laura (Scott) Masters of Alabaster; grandson, Landon Masters; sisters, Joyce (Cook) Gardner of Talladega, Mary (Gene) Sasser of Sylacauga and Connie (Ronald) Ragsdale of Chelsea; brothers, Bill (Nancy) Kitchens of Dora, Mickey (Susan) Kitchens of Harpersville; sisters-in-law, Betty Sue Kitchens of Jacksonville, Fla. and Patricia Kitchens of Jamestown, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
