Picklesimer to compete in Ms. Venus Pageant at Troy University

Megan Picklesimer of Chelsea will compete in the Ms. Venus Pageant at Troy University March 20 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Claudia Crosby Theater on the Troy Campus.

Picklesimer, a freshman majoring in broadcast journalism, is a leadership scholar, a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and the Troy University cheerleaders.

Contestants will be judged in the categories of poise, evening gown and overall appearance. This year, there will be a People’s Choice Award. Supporters can vote for their favorite contestants at $1 per vote.

The contestant with the most votes will be announced as the People’s Choice winner and receive one-half of the total vote proceeds in cash.

The winner of the Ms. Venus Pageant will receive a $150 book scholarship, a crown and a banner. The winner also will be featured in the University’s Spring Fling Parade and represent the University at Spring Alumni Reunion activities on March 29.

The first alternate will receive a $100 book scholarship, while the second alternate will receive a $50 book scholarship. The scholarships are sponsored by the Troy University Alumni Association.

Admission to the pageant is $2 and can be paid at the door
