Edwina Chappell of Sterrett took the crown as Ms. Senior Alabama March 27 at Wallace State Community College.

The women were judged on philosophy of life, talent and evening gown.

For her talent, Chappell performed a rendition of Tammy Wynette’s “Stand by your Man.”

Chappell competed against 14 other women from across the state and now goes on to the national finals to compete for the title of Miss Senior America 2008.

That event is set for Oct. 19-25 at the Harrah’s Resort Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City
